Newcastle is the largest city in Northeast England. The city grew famous as a

coal-exporting port and in the 19th century became an

important industrial center. The major attractions in the

city are the St. Nicholas Cathedral, Castle Garth Keep,

and the River Tyne, which the city runs alongside.
