Old Moor Wetlands

Opened in 1998, the Old Moor Wetlands is a 250-acre nature reserve which includes a wide range of habitats from wet meadow, shallow muddy ponds, deep water and reedbed, and a scattering of hedgerows. Within the wetlands is the former Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve of Wath Ings, still the most productive part of the wetlands and the only mature habitat within the site. Five easily accessible hides offer views of a large variety of birds. On-site visitor center houses exhibits and a gift shop. Also animal paddocks, play area, bird feeding garden and wildlife walks. Groups welcome, discounts available. Open all year. Tel: +44 (0)1226 751 593, Fax: +44 (0)1226 751 617.

Location: Old Moor Lane, off Manvers Way, Wombwell, Barnsley S73 0YF
