Search Beaulieu

Formerly the Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House has been the home of the Montagu family since 1538. Today, visitors can still see the monastic origins of the building and talk to Victorian characters from the House as they explore Britain's most visited Stately Home, and one of only ten remaining treasure houses in the country. The attractions at Beaulieu are set in 75 of the 7500 acres that comprise the Beaulieu Estate. While much of the grounds are open parkland, formal areas have also been created, including an 1800s Victorian Garden, informal Wilderness Garden dating back to the 1700s, the 'Long walk' which takes the visitor on meandering pathways besides the Monks Mill Pond where views across to the village of Beaulieu can be enjoyed. Open all year; gift shops, restaurants on site. Tel: +44 (0)1590 612 345, Fax: +44 (0)1590 612 624
