Ripon is the cathedral city of the Yorkshire Dales. It is located in the West Riding of
Yorkshire, on the River Ure 26 miles north of
Leeds. The cathedral dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. The celebrated ruins of Fountains Abbey are in the vicinity.
