William Wordsworth and his family moved to Rydal in 1813
and lived here until his death in 1850. His home, Rydal
Mount contains a large collection of memorabilia, portraits
and his personal library. Another historical spot in the
city is Nab Cottage, occupied by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's
eldest son.
