The Yorkshire Home of Sir Reginald and Lady Sheffield, Sutton Park is a charming lived-in house, built in 1730 by Thomas Atkinson. The House contains beautiful 18th-century furniture, paintings mostly from Buckingham House (now Buckingham Palace), and an important collection of porcelain. The House is a fine example of early Georgian architecture overlooking beautiful parkland; the gardens featuring herbaceous rose borders are full of rare and interesting plants. On the grounds are a Georgian Icehouse and woodland walks. The tearoom is open on House Open days serving homemade cakes and scones; lunches and teas for booked parties.
