The Visitor Centre was opened in 1988 by Dame Margot Fonteyne de Arias, then Chancellor of the University. It provides an exhibition hall, coffee shop and plant sales. During the year, the centre is the venue for talks and seminars on a variety of horticultural subjects, and a showcase for the work of local artists and photographers. The Garden is open all year.
