Wakefield England

Wakefield is a town in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It is situated on the Calder River about 15 miles SE of Leeds. During the Battle of Wakefield in 1460, supporters of the House of Lancaster were defeated by the forces of the House of Lancaster. It was incorporated in 1848 and became a city in 1888.
