Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire is an inland county, lying north of Huntingdonshire and Essex, south of Lincolnshire, east of Huntingdonshire, and west of Suffolk and Norfolk. It includes the Isle of Ely. It is oblong in shape, about 50 miles long and 30 miles wide, with an area of 860 square miles.

The northern part is level throughout, while the southern part attains a height of 300 feet near Cambridge. The chief rivers are the Great Ouse, the Cam, the Lark, and the Nene.

The towns of the county iclude Cambridge, Wisbech, Ely, and March. There are evidences of prehistoric and Roman occupation.
