Worcestershire is a county in the English
Midlands, bounded on the north by
Staffordshire, east by
Warwickshire, south by
Gloucestershire, west by
Herefordshire, and northwest by
Shropshire. Its area is 700 square miles. The capital or "County Town" is Worcester.
Coal is worked in the north and northwest. Hops and small fruits are cultivated. There are extensive porcelain manufactures.
