Barberville is located in Volusia County north of Orlando between Ocala and Daytona Beach along Highway 40 near Lake George and Lake Disston. Barberville is part of the Daytona Beach, Florida metro area.
Barberville was established in 1882 by James D. Barber who hoped to capitalize on the fact that the area was on the proposed route of the Jacksonville, Tampa, Key West Railroad.
Barberville puts on the Fall Country Jamboree, which attracts hundreds of crafters and thousands of visitors to the Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts.
