Online Highways Home > Florida > Big Pine Big Pine is located in Monroe County between Key West and Marathon along US Highway 1 near the Gulf of Mexico. A community on Big Pine Key, Big Pine Key, or Big Pine for short, is slightly different from the Middle and Upper Keys. Its namesake the pine tree is rare in the Middle or Upper Keys.
