The surrounding mangrove islands are home to more wild birds then most people ever see in their life. Often seen are Herons, Oyster Catchers, Roseate Spoonbills and of course the ubiquitous Brown Pelican. The swimming in the Gulf at this secluded junction between Siesta Key and Casey Key is the most spectacular beach in Florida with very few people to disturb you as you wile away the hours.
