Dania is located in
Broward County north of
Miami between
Miami Beach and
Fort Lauderdale along Interstate 95 near the Atlantic seacoast. Dania is part of the
Fort Lauderdale, Florida metro area.
Dania was incorporated in November 1904, its 35 residents, most of whom were Danes, changed the named to Dania. By 1912, Dania was a thriving community of almost 1200 people and continued to grow through the 1920s when the City suffered tremendous setbacks.
Today there are over 100 antique shops and malls vending their wares along a few short blocks of Federal Highway in Downtown Dania. "Antique Row", has become not only became a browsers and shoppers paradise, but also the stores themselves are housed inside buildings steeped in the Citys history including Broward Countys first movie theatre.
Located on the Atlantic Coast, the Dania Beach Waterfront is a wonderful place to catch the morning sunrise.
