Estero

Estero is located in Lee County south of Fort Myers between Fort Myers and Bonita Springs along Highway 41 near Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico (part of the Fort Myers-Cape Coral, Florida metro area). This community is also found just north of the Florida Everglades.

The Estero community is a unique array of old and new, and rich in history. A visit to our state park, the Koreshan State Historic Site, is a fascinating and educational look into the lives of the first pioneers and settlers to the southwest Florida area. The beauty of the Estero River is treasured and enjoyed by canoeists and boaters, from all over the world, who can explore one of the last remaining unspoiled and pristine Florida water ways. A short boat ride through this enchanting river will flow into the beautiful Estero Bay where you will discover the Mound Key State Archaeological Site, the kingdom of the Calusa Indians.
