Fruitland Park is located in Lake County northwest of Orlando between Eustis and Leesburg along US Hwy 27/441 near Lake Harris. Fruitland Park is part of the Orlando, Florida metro area. Fruitland Park predates the Civil War, although the name of the town didn't come until later on. The earliest settler was M. Calvin Lee, of the Evander Lee family of Leesburg, who planted a citrus grove. After the war, a son-in-law of the Lee family, P.S. Bouknight, homesteaded 40 acres near Mirror Lake. While Fruitland Park is within an easy drive of central Florida's metropolitan areas and attractions, we enjoy the benefits of the quiet life of our small City. We are proud of our City, where neighbor visits neighbor, youngsters can walk or bicycle to school or city parks for recreation and where health walkers can exercise safely. Churches of many denominations are located in Fruitland Park and others are nearby.
