John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park

The park actually has two beaches and although they are small, they are very beautiful and are surrounded by rich mature natural vegetation. Cannon beach is the closest to the park entrance and is the closest to the concession and the visitor's center. This beach is better for adults because it's rockier and has a deep drop-off of 30 feet where people love to dive. It also has a replica of a ship wreck in the water which makes for great snorkeling. Far beach is a great family beach, very shallow with shade trees and picnic tables. Also this beach has two great nature trails (about 1/4 of a mile) off the parking lot right next to the beach. There is a snack machine at Far beach and a concession and snack machine at Cannon beach.
