At the Shipwreck Historeum Museum, visitors discover the unique maritime heritage and history of the Key West area, and how it earned the title of 'the richest city in the United States' in the lucrative wrecking industry and salvage trade. This living history museum combines actors, films, laser technology and actual artifacts from the recently rediscovered wrecked vessel 'Isaac Allerton,' which sank in 1856 on the infamous Florida Keys reef. Highlights include a 60-foot lookout tower.
