Founded in 1938, the 744-bed Broward General Medical Center is the County's oldest, largest and most complete referral medical center. It annually admits 24,000 patients, delivers 3,000 babies and handles more than 80,000 emergencies. Broward General's medical firsts include Cardiac Catheterization, Neonatal Intensive Care and full-time physician staffing in the emergency department.
