Lake County, off of US 441 northwest of
Orlando, between
Eustis and
Zellwood, situated on the banks of Lake Dora (part of the
Orlando, Florida metro area).
Mount Dora was founded in 1874 when homesteaders first discovered the gently sloping lakeside hills towering to 184 feet above sea level. Ancient oak trees rail the streets that weave through 19th century clapboard houses and serene, country-style residential neighborhoods. Mount Dora is a city of parks.
