New Port Richey is located in
Pasco County off of US Hwy 19 northwest of
Tampa, between
Hudson and
Tarpon Springs on the waters edge of the
Gulf of Mexico and the Pithlachascotee River (part of the
Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida metro area).
The Cotee River, once a retreat for silent film-era movie stars, offers exciting tours through its enchanting jungle areas, complete with alligators and parakeets. New Port Richey also provides entertainment for all ages, including ball fields, playgrounds, jogging, cycling and swimming.
The most well-known festival for this community is the Chasco Fiesta, which is a combination Native American pow-wow, street carnival, boat parade barbecue, arts and crafts show and fishing tournament.
