Oviedo is located in
Seminole County just northeast of
Orlando between
Altamonte Springs and
Titusville along Highway 426 near Lake Jessup. Oviedo is part of the
Orlando, Florida metro area.
Oviedo's roots go back to a tiny settlement on the south shore of Lake Jesup. This little settlement, known as Solary's Wharf, had two general stores and a post office in 1875.
Oviedo is host to the delectable "A Taste of Oviedo" outdoor festival held each May. The event includes live entertainment, cuisine from local restaurants, children's activities and much more.
