Palmetto is located in
Manatee County between
St Petersburg and
Bradenton Beach(part of the
Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida metropolitan area).
Palmetto is a beautiful city with a rich history. Palmetto Historical Park seeks to preserve that history for future generations. This lovely park in downtown Palmetto is the site of Palmettos first Post Office, a classic Carnegie Library, the Manatee County Agricultural Hall of Fame and a wedding chapel. Several public parks with athletic and picnicking facilities are available.
Traditional festivals and events include the Tomato Festival, celebrating agriculture in our community, a 4th of July celebration, the Manatee County Fair, a Cinco de Mayo celebration and an annual parade in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
