Pompano is a very active beach with watersports, boating, sand volleyball, swimming, picnics and more. There are playgrounds for the kids and tons of room on the mile-long beach (100 to 150 yards wide). There is also a pier open 24 hours with a bait shop and concession. There is shade only along the back beach under the palms, and there is a 1/2 mile sidewalk that extends to the beach.
