South Miami is primarily a residential area, its commercial hub at the intersection of Sunset and Red Roads is always alive with activity. Along these two roads and adjoining side streets are a maze of small shops. They generate a small-town atmosphere while offering antique stores, art galleries and bookstores. Bakeries, meat and produce markets tempt the appetite. Local fish tales are swapped at the tackle shop, with the adjacent fish market providing fresh seafood.
