St Petersburg Beach is located in Pinellas County, on Long Key just southwest of St Petersburg between Clearwater and Bradenton Beach along Highway 19 near Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
As far back as the 1830s Cuban fishermen camped on the beaches of Long Key. In fact Pass-A-Grille, the historic district that encompasses the southern end of the island, probably got its name from fisherman who smoked and salted their catches on the beach before traveling back to Cuba.
The City of St. Pete Beach offers a wide variety of parks and recreation opportunities. In addition to our miles of sandy beach and water we offer picnic facilities, basketball and tennis courts as well as baseball fields and covered pavilions.
