The Museum's impressive permanent collections of over 4500 objects include the Southeast's largest repository of Greek and Roman antiquities, as well as modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts. Two sculpture galleries include the popular Terrace Gallery, featuring 19th- and 20th-century works and overlooking the scenic Hillsborough River. The Museum's courtyard, facing Ashley Street and downtown Tampa, provides an outdoor display area for larger pieces of sculpture, including monumental works by Beverly Pepper, Michael Steiner, and Lyman Kipp. A changing program of special events presents classical and contemporary shows; complementing these exhibitions are a wide range of classes, lectures, seminars, walking tours, and children's activities.
