The only facility in the country dedicated to the history of America's space pioneers, the US Astronaut Hall of Fame traces the development of space exploration through video footage, personal memorabilia and historical artifacts. Just west of the Kennedy Space Center, the Hall of Fame houses the world's largest collection of Astronaut artifacts, as well as the famous SPACE CAMP Florida, a residential camp equipped with state-of-the-art simulators and hands-on exhibits, where youth train like real astronauts. More than 25 on-site simulators let visitors experience aerial acrobatics and astronaut training, squeeze inside a Mercury spacecraft and take a multi-media ride aboard a space shuttle mock-up.
