Northwest Region

The Northwest Region of Florida is home to the state's capitol, Tallahassee, as well as to the Suwannee River (immortalized by Florida's state song, "Old Folks at Home".) On the shores of the Suwannee is the Stephen Foster State Folk Culture Center containing artifacts, displays and demonstrations of early pioneer and native life in Florida.

Other attractions of the region include antebellum and Civil War-style architecture, sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, and (among many other state parks) the Florida Caverns State Park near Marianna.
