Southeast of Besancon, the town of Arbois, dotted with ochre stone buildings set along the vine-covered banks of the Cuisance River, is the undisputed capital of Jura wines. It was also the childhood residence of scientist Louis Pasteur, whose former home is now an interesting museum.
