Arcachon, a busy seaside resort created in 1845 on the Cote d Argent, offers visitors white-sand beaches, elegant villas and a variety of nautical sports. The town is divided into four sections, each named for one of the four seasons. The Ville d Ete (summer town) boasts a casino and sports facility.
