The museums collection contains examples of local art and traditions from the Middle Ages to more recent times, as well as a replica of a rural family home, old costumes and headwear from the Avranches area and workshops of local craftsmen. A monastic scriptorium has also been set up with tools, inks and pigments to recreate the atmosphere of medieval book production, a useful prelude to a visit to the Bibliotheque du Fonds Ancien.
