Located west of Geneva (Switzerland) on the Reyssouze River, the market town of Bourg-en-Bresse is known for its wonderful cuisine. The towns main attraction is the abbey church of Brou, located on the SE edge of town. Built during the early 16th century by Margaret of Austria after the death of her husband, Philibert, Duke of Savoy, the church contains the intricately carved marble tombs of the royal couple, in addition to the tomb of Philiberts mother. The cloisters now house a small museum featuring Dutch and Flemish paintings as well as contemporary works.
