The charming fishing village of Cassis offers visitors a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a glass of the local dry white wine for which the village is famous. The coastline from Marseille to Cassis is marked by calanques, narrow inlets cut into the soaring white limestone cliffs, which may be visited by boat; several companies offers tours departing from here.
