Chalon-sur-Saone France

Located south of Dijon where the Saone River meets the Canal du Centre, Chalon-sur-Saone is a sizeable port and industrial center. Its old town is centered around Grand-Rue and rue du Chatelet, just back from the river. The Saint-Vincent district, encircling an 11th- to 15th-century cathedral, is the historical heart of the town. Other points of interest include the Musee Denon (place de l Hotel-de-Ville), specializing in fine arts and archaeology, and the Musee Niepce, a photography museum.
