Search Chantilly

The Grand Chateau and the Petite Chateau today combine to make up the Musee Conde, featuring an important collection of paintings and drawings of the "Ecole francaise" (French School) including works by Poussin, Ingres and Delacroix, as well as Italian works representing the art of Fra Angelico and Raphael. An important collection of rare books (30,000 volumes) and painted manuscripts (around 700) is also on display, most notably the 15th-century illuminated manuscript "Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry", the most celebrated of all the Books of Hours.
