Located 40 km north of Paris and 50 km SE of Beauvais, the ancient town of Chantilly was known in the 18th century for its fine lacework. Today it is known for its elegant chateau and enjoys the distinction of being the horseracing capital of France. Its racetrack, created in 1834, is situated next to the forest in front of the spectacular castle.
