Chaumont

Situated on a steep ridge 93 km east of Troyes at the confluence of the Marne and Suize rivers, the town of Chaumont was the residence of the Counts of Champagne during the 13th century. The towns main point of interest is the Basilique St-Jean-Baptiste, with Renaissance galleries and a number of impressive religious sculptures.
