Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the basilica of Notre-Dame-du-Port is a remarkable example of the Auvergne school of Romanesque architecture. Each year in May, pilgrimage ceremonies are held in the crypt of the black Virgin statue. The basilica can be reached from the pedestrianized rue du Port and is located downhill from the Amboise Fountain.
