The museum contains a regional collection of archeological artifacts, including pottery shards, bronzes and wood carvings from Paleolithic and Neolithic times. The Gallo-Roman section is particularly well represented. In the same building is the Mus e des Tapis d'Art (Carpet and Textile Museum), with a collection of 80 rare Middle Eastern and east Asian carpets.
