Situated on a hill overlooking the Rance River valley, the market town of Dinan is still encircled by its ancient city wall. The well-preserved medieval, half-timbered houses and narrow streets of the Vieille Ville can best be appreciated from the top of the Tour d Horloge, a belfry dating from the late 15th century, located on rue de l Horloge. Les Jardin Anglais (the English Garden), located behind the Basilique St-Sauveur, offers wonderful views of the river and the nearby rue du Jerzual winds down to the town s port, where visitors can depart for a boat trip along the Rance.
