Housed in a 19th-century tobacco on the Bassin du Commerce, this museum illustrates the history of Dunkerque as a port, following its evolution from a medieval fishing port in the Middle Ages to the huge complex that now stretches over 17 kilometres of shoreline. Also featured are the exploits of Jean Bart, the famous Dunkerque corsair, and the prosperous age of Icelandic fishing. Closed on Tuesdays
