The medieval town of Eguisheim, located along the Route du Vin, is laid out within three concentric circles of 13th-century walls. The town features well-preserved, half-timbered houses and the remains of a fortified castle, located in the center of town, once belonging to the Counts of Eguisheim. Just outside the city ramparts, visitors may follow a marked path which meanders from rue de Hautvilliers through the scenic vineyards of the area.
