Grenoble

Situated at the confluence of the Drac and Isere rivers and surrounded by the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains, the university town of Grenoble is a center for the chemical and electronics industry. Points of interest include the 16th-century Fort de la Bastille, accessible via the cable car starting at quai Stephane-Jay; the 13th-century church of St-Andre, located at the heart of the medieval old city, and the 15th-century Palais de Justice.
