Musee Rodin

The museum, located just east of the Hotel des Invalides, is housed within the Hotel Biron, a masterpiece of Rococo architecture and the home of Auguste Rodin from 1908 until the end of his life in 1917. It includes the artist's marble, bronze and terracotta sculptures as well as 12 major works by his pupil and companion Camille Claudel. Seven thousand of the master's drawings and several paintings by Carriere, Monet and Van Gogh from Rodins personal collection are also on display. Monumental bronze statutes (The Thinker, The Gates of Hell and The Burghers of Calais) can be found in the garden, decorated with 2,000 rosebushes.
