This Gothic cathedral, with its magnificent Romanesque portal, provides visitors with a remarkable view of the different periods of construction from the 11th to the 15th century. In 1134 a fire devastated the city and its cathedral. In rebuilding, the innovations of Gothic architecture were employed, including intersecting ribs and flying buttresses. The interior is accented with early stained-glass windows and colorful tapestries.
