Located 7 km SW of St-Remy and 80 km north of Marseille, the fortified town of Les Baux is distinguished by its ruined 11th-century citadel, which appears to grow out of the rock plateau upon which it sits. The inhabited village lies below the citadel and contains the 12th-century church of St-Vincent as well as a number of small museums.
