Lisieux France

Located 35 minutes by train from Caen, the cathedral city of Lisieux has become a popular pilgrimage center, receiving more than two million pilgrims a year. Devoted to St. Therese, a Carmelite nun who was canonized in 1925, the enormous Basilique de Ste-Therese is located to the SW of the town center. The city is also a good base for exploring the surrounding Pays dAuge countryside, noted for the local cheese and cider.
