Locronan France

Built up during the 15th-17th centuries upon the wealth gained from its principal product, sailcloth, the town of Locronan now attracts visitors with an elegant collection of Renaissance buildings -- the legacy of its former prosperity. The town s central square is home to a late 15th-century church dedicated to St. Ronan, an Irish missionary, who is honored each July with a hilltop pilgrimage called a Tromenie.
