Marchiennes France

Located on the Scarpe River between Douai and Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Marchiennes lies near the A1 and A23 autoroutes and is half an hour from Lille and 2 hours from Paris. Among its attractions are the Estate Forest, covering some 800 hectares, with hiking trails and picnic areas; the Pre des Nonettes Nature Reserve, with rich and varied flora and fauna; the Les Evoiches Leisure Park and campsite; the remains of a Benedictine Abbey; the Church of Ste Rictrude, dating from 1812, and the Museum of Local History.
